A Better Life

Mediums: Adobe Premiere

My family immigrated to the United States in 2001 because they wanted a better life for themselves and their children. This is the image that desperate foreigners are given, a false hope in which USA helps them gain a better life. As the son of immigrants, I constantly wonder if the American Dream is real or if I would have been better off in Mexico.

This was a video project for my 4D Space and Temporality class

Fragments of Childhood

Mediums: Adobe Audition

"Fragments of Childhood" is an art piece that takes the listener through fragments of my childhood and how being Chicano influenced it. I recall spending most of my days outside with other children in the heat, and listening to Mexican street venders slowly surround us. From here on the audio reflects how overwhelmed I would get from loud parties, family members shouting during futbol games,  and the frequent fights that would break out around me.

Created for my 4D: Space and Temporality class

The cover image is another art work, "SPITE" and can be viewed on my Instagram.
